Developer Lovell has given the initial two houses completed at Wirral’s Bromborough Pool village, to Riverside, provider of social housing.
The 40-home development includes 14 available for rent, along with 26 available on a shared ownership basis within the village. Once the building is complete, there will be plenty of scope for loft extensions in the Wirral.
Riverside has invested £4.5m into developing the three-bed homes, in line with the initial design and architecture.
Carol Matthews, chief executive for the housing provider, paid a visit to the site to handover the initial two homes, of which will perform a show home role. She told 24 Dash:
“It was excellent to visit Bromborough Pool, the historic industrial hamlet, and see the difference the new homes are making to the village. I am delighted at the way this project has worked in partnership with the community. We plan to complete all the new homes by autumn this year.”
He went on to say that they have only a 50-strong waiting list for their shared ownership homes and will finalise sales soon.
Area manager for Lovell, Mike Turner, said that the company is happy with the handing over of the first new affordable houses to Bromborough Pool Village and Riverside. Lovell is hopeful that the first residents of the development will be pleased with the beautifully-finished, energy-efficient, secure and comfortable homes. Turner added that the company has enjoyed working with Riverside on the project, and has worked with it previously.
